| Bull Dog winch
I got the RC4WD Bull Dog wireless remote winch. It has a Tamiya plug and I am using a Traxxas plug on the battery and ESC. I don't want to haul 2 batteries on the truck. Do I just switch the Tamiya plug for a Traxxas plug and get a "Y" plug? Or is there another option(s)?

i have the 3 racing winch on my rig, and i just cut the plug off and soldered it to the esc power wires. i also added a dead switch to kill the power to the winch all together when it's not in use to prevent accidental spooling or drift. works fine. |

I have the 3Racing winch as well, but I wanted a wireless without having to mod my remote...asking a lot I know... Do you have a pic of what you did? I'm trying to picture it. Did you just cut some bare spots in your power wires and solder them in? You are still using a plug though, right...for the battery to hook up?

I don't have any pics and it would be nearly impossible to snap any seeing how that electrical nightmare is all trying to be hidden in the cab of a truggy that has a full interior and drivers. Super simple though. I used deans connectors so when it came time to hook up the wires to the esc I also soldered the black wire to the negative side of the power connector. Then I did the same for the hot lead but I added an inline switch to thar leg so I can cut the power to the winch. It's basic stuff really, just gotta sit and look at it a bit. |

Got it figured out. I just hardwired the winch to the ESC, like you said, and it works perfect! Now I FINALLY have a hands free winch to work my plow! This guy is happy! WOOT WOOT! Thanks to all for the ideas!

Anyone else have this winch? What kind of range are you getting with the wireless remote? Any way to get more range? I still have to get pretty close to the truck to get the remote to work. Just wondering.
