Default Gettin hot

I have a scx10 that I ran thru some water and fried it (receiver) I got a new one and tried to get it going again it worked great for about 5 min then it labored real hard to even pull it self. The motor was to hot to touch after it cools it runs fine. I changed motor and speed control twice but it still does the same thing?

It sounds like you might have some drivetrain binding somewhere. Are you able to turn the tires easily by hand when the motor is not attached??

Interesting.

So with a brand new motor and brand new ESC, the motor still gets hot? What gearing? What battery?

How is the pinion gear mesh??

When the motor gets hot, did you recheck if the wheels still move easily?? You may have an axle bearing failing.

...so, did you find out what the problem was? Are you still running the Traxxas 20T stinger motor? If so, what battery are you using, and how do you like it?..
