Default Onyx 235 help

I have a Onyx 235 charger and a Onyx 5000 Lipo 2s 7.4v 5,000mah 25c battery. This charger is a little tricky. I set the settings correct for the battery I think, most are common sense but some aren't. The setting was set to 5.0a, and 120mins, are those the right settings? Anything else I should watch for the first charging? It's on a balanced charge at 7.4 5000mah now, 20mins in and 1,600mah.

Nope, sounds fine. Your amperage should just taper off as it charges on. And just because it says 120 minutes doesn't automatically mean it HAS to go 120 mins, just that after 120 mins it will shut off. But I doubt it'll even get to that, it 'll just peak when it's done charging. Balancing may add some time on, but sounds like it's doing fine. Not sure how much time it adds, as I have the 230, no balancer. The more I use it, the more I like it, just wish for more wattage!

The 230's fine from what I heard, the 235 just has a different display, and it has A/C and D/C. It has alligator clips for battery charging from on spot battery charging.

How do I hook my bare end BEC and ESC wires to my Deans plug on my Onyx Lipo? I didn't want to start a new thread since it's a battery question.

I was under the impression they were exactly the same except for a balancer. Well, no matter.

For hooking up the ESC and BEC, you'll need to look up soldering on a Dean's connector. I've never done it without melting it horribly, so I stick with my TRX (Traxxas) connectors. Hopefully someone else can chime in with some tips for ya.

Disregard what I said about the chargers, I had heard all wrong. It 235 has a balancer for extended battery life, and a USB port.
