I searched, nothing came up, not sure why not.

Select your Favorite Transmitter ABOVE on what Spektrum 3ch radio is the most liked and universal.

There may be some side mods that are done to the 3rd channel please list it.

Also, please say what determined your vote.

Thanks

The wife decided she wanted the DX3S for her Slash. I remember it took me a while to get it set up, but it's been a year and a half to two years since it's been turned on. Couldn't tell you much about it other than it worked fine last time we ran them. Didn't get a chance to play with any channel mixing, as the Slash only needs the two.

I personally wanted her to go with the DX3R (since she was insistent on going with Spectrum), but admittedly, that was primarily based on looks. Not sure if the R's curved handle actually would've been more comfortable or not. Just in the one picture I found online, looks like the R has a few buttons down by the handle, which I imagine can be programmed for different options. The S just has one button for the timer, the Aux (3rd channel?) switch looks to be only two position and it's up by the steering wheel, and the steering rate knob (if you use that) is clear up on the front of the side panel. Just doesn't seem to me like stuff's placed within easy reach on the S. Probably get to be second nature once you got used to it, though.

I'm pretty brand loyal to Futaba, but if I was willing to make the jump, I'd go for the DX3R, myself.

i dont have the dx3c but it looks very good. its pretty cheap and it supports a dsm2 so you can get a 5$ receivers to it (i think)

I voted DX3e for a couple of reasons.

First it is cheap enough that I could have one for each RC so that my family can run them all at the same time (so model memory is not a criteria for me). Also, when one of the kids drops one or leaves one out I don't much care.

The second is that my family like the feel of it, but I can only assume that the others feel fine too.

The third is that I can mod it to do anything I please to fit my exact needs at any time.

I voted for the DX3R, I like it beacuse of 1. model memory and 2. all the fine tuning you can do to each model.

As far as price goes for a 3ch radio. the 3e is a great value.

I think the thread title should be, "Vote on most liked/universal Spektrum 3 ch radio".

I would pick either a Futaba 3PM-x or FS GT3B, not a Spektrum.

My vote is Futaba as well. Expensive, but you get what you pay for.

had a dx3e for a long time, good simple radio. but the overkillrc hacked gt3b puts it to shame for half the price. more features, more comfortable, and easy to use.

Why on earth america would you support a copy cat that from hong kong like GT3B which is underselling??

1-Sorry....the thread title is misleading.....it does NOT state it is a "select the best Spektrum 3ch".......thus my comment.
2-I'm a Futaba fan, have been since ~1979.....
3-GT3B is better than Spektrum or Futaba for the money. Lots of support for the hacked version on this forum (Futaba has lots of support here as well from Harley).........what "factory" or pseudo "factory" support does Spektrum have on this forum??

You can buy what you want, I will buy what I want......

Actually, to use the wantAmix properly, I think you would be limited to the DX3R.

Here is the breakdown as it relates to that topic:
DX3S - No good, it only has a 2-position 3rd channel
DX3E - Has both 3-position and linear 3rd channel, limited to one mode at a time and one 3-position switch.
DX3C - Has both 3-position and linear 3rd channel, limited to one mode and one 3-position switch at a time.
DX3R - Has both 3-position and linear 3rd channel, but multiple switches can be assigned to it at the same time. The wantAmix was made for the DX3R and the Futaba 3PM-X. Both have just enough features for it to work out.

In no case is there a built in mix mode which will do what you would want for dual-esc MOA.

See the link in my sig. I was able to add the proper mix modes to my DX3E. I did this mod for personal reasons, but if anyone is interested...

So far I am not able to get this working with my DX6i, seems as i cannot get the module to sinc up with each ch.

Can you please explain what the difference is exactly?

I will throw my $.02 into the mix.

I used to be a spektrum fan, I had 2 DX3R's, a DX3E, and a DX6i...

Then I realized something, spektrum is not interested in listening to what we (crawlers) want and have yet to release a radio that can do everything that most of us will eventually want/need it to. Then there was the whole DX3c screw up where there was talk of it having proper mixing for dual ESCs and 4ws only for members to buy it and find out that that wasn't the case at all.

For that reason I will have to agree with some of the others and say that Futaba is the only major brand radio I would buy. Of course at this point I am very happy with my pair of GT3B's and unless something drastic happens I will stick with those.

Yea, I cannot argue with you about that. I myself was pretty disappointed when I spoke to a high up Spektrum contact about easy upgrades, asking for additions to the radio and told them about my custom pistol DX6i, ( think i heard a yawn, n the background) I like the design and ease of use. Customer service was great when my dx6i would not pass a range test, they had to replace the module.
Futaba has been around a long time, I still have a working futaba magnum Jr. from my racing days.
Maybe I will look into the 3pm or what ever it is 3channel.
Sure wish they would update the design, it is so boring and top heavy.

thanks
