| Trying to select a replacement esc
I have an SCX10. i was running a traxxas XL5 with a 20 or a 17T brushed motor. yes, the motor is kinda hot for a crawler but it seems to do fine for now and create little heat. i will gear it down more or get a 35-45T later on. I need an esc that will be able to power my steering servo, hitech 645 and up to 6 LEDs. overkill is better with the BEC. I also want a drag brake. waterproof does NOT matter, once i waterproof my servo i can waterprrof the esc too. not a big deal. lipo cutoff is preferred but not necessary as i have a lipo low voltage beeper. i will be running 2s on it as my 3s became a 2s after a cell died. being a college student cheaper is better. im looking for something on a budget. not quite a top ramen budget though. i read about the VR16 moped, is this any good and how long does it take to have one shipped from RC mart? i love castle but i cant justify the money for another castle right now as my current one is off being repaired under warranty by castle. i hear god things about tekin but they, like castle, seem to be more expensive. any suggestions for a decent cheapie esc for a SCX10? thanks! ^ OR, a sidewinder. can be had for pretty cheap used (I picked one up not long ago for $35), and really aren't that pricey new. can run brushless AND brushed motors, is more programmable than the AE-2, and is super reliable in essence, an AE-2 is basically a dumbed-down sidewinder, but I like to keep my options open and keep the rig flexible Last edited by iamsuperbleeder; 04-03-2012 at 09:05 PM. |

My other castle is a SV2. Where did you find an SV2 for 35 bucks? The axial sv2 would be perfect. No need for brushless in the SCX as the sv2 isnt sensor capable. Just my $0.02 worth. What does the axial brushed sv2 run? Im going to have to scour the for sale. Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk |
