| Completely lost on LiPo's
I have read all the info I can get my hands on as well as the stickies above and I'm still lost on a few things. What are the handing and charging procedures? What is the difference in 2s vs. 3s? What do I really need in my xr10 with 2 45t crawler motors and one esc? Sorry for the newbie type questions but my RC experience is all very dated after a 10 year break from the hobby.

You need a charger that is made to charge and balance Lipo's. Read the instructions for your charger and balance charge them every time. Handle them with care, you dont want to throw them around or drop them all over the place. 2s packs have 2 cells in series (double the voltage of 1 cell, same capacity) and 3s is 3 cells in series (triple the voltage, same capacity). Sometimes you will see a pack that is something like 2s2p, 2 cells in series 2 in parallel (double the voltage double the capacity). 2s packs have a nominal voltage of 7.4v, 3s packs are 11.1v. You will want to run 3s, pack size can vary but somewhere in the 1000mah range and 35c or higher would be my recommendation. Make sure that your ESC as a LVC (low voltage cutoff) to stop the truck before your pack gets over discharged. |

2s is 2 cells 7.4 volts....3s is 3 cells 11.1 volts....and so on handling - never discharge to under 3.3-3.6 volts per cell..fully charged they are 4.2 volts per cell....always use a balance charger never put in open flame,,ect ect say its a 2s 4000mah charge at 4c charge rate 2000 mah 2s 2c charge rate always keep an eye out when charging lipo..dont hook it up and leave the house basically...you should proly carry and store them in a lipo bag(((just if they blow up it contains the fire)) and as for your rig you need to know what your esc can handle to figure what will work |
