Default How "water resistant" is a stock Castle BEC?

My setup is as follows:

Wraith
AE-2 ESC
CC BEC
FlySky mini receiver
Hitec 5995 servo (that's why I need the BEC).

So, the brushless motor and ESC are ok with getting splashed but not submerged. The receiver is not splash friendly so it goes in the original radio box for the Wraith. The BEC is a little too large to go into the box with it (and I already wired it to the ESC and don't feel like cutting the wires to get it inside the receiver box).

What I'm wondering is if it's safe to leave it zip tied to the frame. I occasionally go through a puddle here and there, but it's definitely not a submarine. I don't want to be paranoid about getting a little water splashed on it. If I need to pick up some balloons then I can put one over it and use that old trick, but wanted to see what consensus was before hand.

There were a lot of threads about water proofing stuff, but nothing definitive about not water proofing it.

I guess its a try it at your own risk kinda thing..... mine sits next to the radio box up front in my wraith and Ive taken it through some water (NOT submurged) and never hurt it. at most its a $20 risk so I say try your luck if you wish or play it safe and dip it in liquid electrical tape.

Just put some shoe goo on both ends where the wires come out. Then you wont have to worry about it.

Thanks guys. I'll make sure to seal the ends first. Anyone use silicone RTV? I have a ton of that at home (tub and bath caulk) but no shoe goo.

It is covered in a conformal coating, should need nothing, but shoe gooed endes can't hurt.

What I do is use di electric greese that I put in both ends of it and then add another layer of heat shrink and use zip ties to seal it off
