Default 2 55t motors....series or parallel...in Emaxx

Gentlemen, I plan on replacing the EVX with a Tekin Rebel 2. I'm also plan on using two Integy 55t motors, 1 battery pack, on a Emaxx crawler. Looking at all the other threads on similar setups, it appears thst everyone is wiring it up in parallel. Wouldn't it be better to wire it up in series ?

BTW, currently, I'm running one 55t motor with the EVX, using the 1 battery pack mod. I did not feel like it had enough power, thus the reason of a two motor setup. I also tried this setup with 7 cells, which I liked better. What do you guys think is better, 7 or 6 cells, with or without one or two motors ? Pros and cons ? Also going to upgrade to the Roc-Max chassis.

Thanks, Marcusg

This is what I've read in the past... Series in a Shafty, Parallel in a Clod.

As for the number of cells. If you liked the 7 cells better, run that. You can always try a smaller type cell like a 4/5A size, A size, 4/5SC size to keep the weight down if needed. I currently run an 8 cell 4/5A pack in my clod with two 55t lathes. Pleanty of runtime, pleanty of power.

2 motors in series should have less power and speed than 1 motor.

Parallel will have double power and same speed.

From what I've read, running a pair of motors in series is ok to do, but, the 2nd motor in the string won't get full power as the first in the line, takes what it needs and leaves what's left for the other motor to contend with... Parallel, they both get equal amounts of juice 'cos there's no motor "in front" of the other...

go by this, this is for a emaxx. for a clod its diffeerent because the rear motor is reversed.

Two 55 turns wired in series will act like a 110 turn motor. Your 9 tooth gearing will be pretty slow.

Two 55 turns wired in parallel will act like a 27 turn motor. You may not be able to gear it low enough.

I'd do series wiring, have longer runtimes, more torque, and have the options of regearing the truck for the wheelspeed you want.

I would go parralel in something like a clod just because series will stall very badly, now if both motors are mechanicly connected like in an e-maxx I would co in series because you want to go slow for a crawler and you will get more grunt. Personally in my clod its one esc for each motor, I think thats the way to go (not for an e-maxx though)

OK, so to sum it up. If I go go with a 1 battery, two motor lathe setup running off a TR2 esc, then wire the motors up in series, correct (provided if this is for an Emaxx. If it was a Clod, then do parralel.) ? Also what about the EVX ? just use the existing wiring as is, correct ?

BTW, thanks fellas for all the input. Much appreciated
