Definitely not overkill.

If you want overkill put a tekin pro4 motor and an rx8 in it

That's not even overkill, but getting there, I have a pro 4 + mmp in my wraith and love it! Now a T8 IS overkill!

I'd go with a Holmes BR-XL & motor combo. For a brushed esc it doesn't get any better IMHO.

I've got a 35t tekin and fxr in my truggy, I've got 6 full stick weights under the hood and the thing does wheelies lol.

Actually you can with a little modification! That is definitely overkill. But fun.

Tekin and Holmes both make excellent products. I usually recommend the Tekin in a comp crawler because its so small and light but the Holmes BRXL has a smoother take off from a dead stop.

45T is a bit timid. Go 30 or 35.

Personally I would go with the Expert or Pro. They have better components and are the same except for the handwound process.
