| receiver antennaes?
I have a spare receiver that I'd like to get working again. I got some glitching from it, and I think it's due to the antennae bieng damaged at the point where it exits the case. The rubber insulation is broken in a small spot, and some of the wire is frayed a bit. Can I take apart the receiver, shorten and resolder the antennae to (hopefully) fix the glitching? Will this wreck the receiver? I have heard that shortening a receiver antennae will shorten it's range, but all we need is a few feet for crawlers anyway. Thanx for any help. |

You can use a wire of the same gauge and length. It wont shorten you range that much if you do shorten it. It's not like you are running a nitro that needs 100 yards of range.

My Antenna has a open spot at the insulation and frayed wires are showing. This open spot is about 3 inches from the top and I'm getting serious glitching. If I shorten the antenna 3 inches from the top, will my reciever still work and everything? If I shorten the antenna, it will only reduce the range right? It wont do anything else? |
