Default Direct electronics vendor challenge!

OK, I have had enough looking around for a V8 RC engine sound simulator!!!

Finding stuff on the net or ebay has broken my spirit so badly,
that I am issuing a challenge to our RCC electronics vendors!

Everything I have seen or found on the internet is either there
one minute, and gone the next, or sounds like the RAM V8 sound unit????

I have 2 RAM deisel/gas units, and they sound like popcorn farts!

RAM 38* Gas/Diesel Engine

The best unit I could find past that was the MTronics system,
but its over $110 bucks before shipping! YET, it sounds much better:

digisound sound module for rc cars v8 big block engine

There is a sound clip on the above page to see what I want,
for my crawlers, Southern buggy, monster truck, FOFF and mud bogger rigs.

NUTZ, here is the link: http://www.mtroniks.net/resources/V8BigBlock.MP3

NOW COME ON PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont need engine start or shut down. (would be nice tho)
I dont need signal lights and or break lights. (brake lights would be cool)
I dont need shifting or breaking screech.
I dont need a speaker. (nice option)
I dont need an amplifier. (nice option)
I dont need to spend a hundred bucks either!

Are you telling me that nobody around here can do/provide this?

I have 20+ rigs, and would put one in all but two,
because they are high cylinder touring cars and a V8 would not sound right.
There are many sound options for those two cars tho, just not the V8.

I want to see a local option (USA or CANADA) that can supply me with
a cheaper solution to this engine sound issue, and for around 50-60 bucks!

And if you think its foolish, just call it an audio tachyometer!

We can buy speakers and amplifier kits at Radio Shack to keep the
initial price down, but GODDAMNIT!, I want a V8 sound unit,
and I want it now!!!!!!!!!

OK, I got that off my chest, now who among you electronics GURU/vendors
is going to produce this unit, and take a bunch of my money????????

but only if it sounds close to/as good as this: http://www.mtroniks.net/resources/V8BigBlock.MP3

And remember, I dont need/want anything past idle to full throttle V8
with open headders and a back drone of the idle again.
I can start in the pits, and pace out to the start-line with just that!

WTH is this not already in place?

EeePee, Now you know better than that.

Those units are like 400 bucks, have all the stuff I said I DONT NEED,

and the ESC's within are known to be weak as hell.

I would expect more from a red star General like you.
(maybe even read my post for more than two lines???)

Maybe it would make more sence if I posted the project that pushes me to want
a better, cheaper V8 engine sound simulator? (i have SEVERAL, but this one makes me want one HARD!!!)

Or perhapse this truck:

I WANT A more economic V8 engine sound simulator!!!!!!!!!

BUT, I also want to give my hard earned money to our "site local" supporting vendors.

Thus the challenge, and poll.

If I am asking, or doing this wrong, please just delete my post.

BUT I WANT A V8 ENGINE SOUND CHIP from this continant ASAP!

Pretty Please!, with sugar on it......

I read every word you posted, but sometimes you gotta pay for what you want, right? You never mentioned Tamiya specifically, though mentioned not needing extras, but I had to make sure you knew it was out there. And honestly, I didn't realize they were that much, though I should have gathered they were. I remember looking at the thing for my Hi-Lift some years ago.

I will second this request. I too have been searching for an affodable unit that has a good V8 sound. I'd love to find a small enough unit to fit in my crawlers but is reasonably affordable.

I would be happy to even provide sound clips for you. My 1:1 Bronc doesn't run right now but my friend's Bronc does and sounds badass.

You can't have it all. You can't have a quality piece and a low price with these units. They need to be high step (meaning needs to have 16+ audio steps to make the RPM range sound decent).

The best unit I have found is this: Model Sounds Inc. - The World's Most Advanced R/C Sound Systems

Runs about $200.

I agree 100,000,000,000,000%! We need an affordable, basic, good sounding v8 engine generator!

These are good ones. There sfx7.0 has a micro sd card reader as well so you can use one module and change the sounds you want.

Ok, so I dont live on your continent... but I have done some research! and was working on finding a cheap sound board... and they are out there ;) - just not engine sound with rpm change.
It would be awesome to hack one of the "sound racer" units, as they already have the sounds and the rpm pickup built in... but it seems as though nobody wants to do it. SoundRacer

I've looked at those. They are big and the company has no V8 sounds that I know of.

I thought they were around the size of a credit card and about 1/4" thick. I talked with him about a V8, he didn't seem to think it was a problem, he just hadn't had the demand to add it at this point.

The only problem with those is that they wind up too high. Classis American v8's don't rev much past 6k rpms.

I never could find dimensions, but the pics made them look bigger than that. Everything on their site shows large scale stuff.
If that is true then that's not too bad. Except finding room for an amplifier and speaker as well.

Here are the dimensions.

Dimensions : 44mm x 68mm x 14mm (1.73" x 2.68" x 0.6")

The amplifier is built in, as long as you are running 4s or above. If you are running 3s then he recommends an amplifier that he sells for another $50.

I LOVE the fact some of the BIG BOYS on here are talking about this!!!!!!!!!!

WE NEED A V-8 SOUND GENERATOR thats under 50 bucks!

Im talking directly to the folks that can make this happen,
and YOU KNOW who you are!

Thats what we, as consumers are willing to pay,
even if we have to build/add our own amps and speaker systems.

ITS TIME PEOPLE!

Make it happen!

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the U S of A for GODS sake! Not to mention what Canada can do!
If we cant produce better and cheaper than a THAI unit,
then lets just fold our hands over our heads, cover our eyes, and bow to THEM!!

I WANT A V8 engine sound kit, AND I WANT IT NOW!

Please vote in the poll.
Let our electronics people know WE will spend the cash, if its a fair amount for the product quality!!!

Vote in the poll, and say in your post:

I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

I CALL BULLSHIT on anybody that chickens out that way!

I am ready to give my money away, to anybody
that makes this happen.

and tell me, what amp and speaker system are you referring to?

$50 leaves no profit for something like this at a high quality. No one will buy it if the it sounds like shit, and a good small speaker that can sound like a throaty v8 isn't cheap...at least from the little i researched this awhile back.

Looks like we need a second team to come up with some 1/10 scale woofers too.
