I just ordered a wraith & i was wondering what a good fairly cheap battery & charger would be just to get me started until i get more cash to buy a good lipo setup

Pretty much everyone uses LiPO now.....NiCD/NiMH will work, but they are heavier & take up more space. Best bet is to go LiPO.

PS, you never stated you wanted to do other than LiPO.

Duratrax is a good charger. Don't know if they are the best, but they have a large variety to choose from. I bought the intelli peak charger which was I guess at the model change over. 50% off $124.00. It charges all types of batteries. They have budget models. I'm using 1800 nihms for now. I have the Dingo and mine are on the rock rails. Good for trails and adds weight that I find useful. I haven't done lipos because I'm old school Nicad from the 80's and just got back in and lipos I don't know any about yet, except they require more safety and attention to details such as never short one or I've heard fires. I'll switch as I studie more. Plus I don't have any friends who are into RC's and/or use lipos. Hobby store guys don't always give good advice and searching here is difficult. Keys words using advance works for me. Google works better with descriptions and will bring you back here a lot. My 1800 nihms were only $12.00 at local hobby store. Just keep reading and searching too! Good luck!

I have two of these chagers - love them. Bought one, tried it out, bought another one and sold both my Duratrax ICE chargers.

Thunder AC680 Professional Dual-Power LiPo Balance Charger/Discharger w/ AC Adapter for 1-6 Lipo/ 1-15 Nimh + USB to PC Software
