Default Most cells used...

What's the most cells anybody has run through an EVX with single batt. mod? I found all kinds of info and tech but nothing about max volts with only one batt. I want to run an 11.1 Lipo through mine (w/out letting out the smoke ) What do you guys think?

My friend ran a 11.1 lipo last weekend with no problem through his evx. He liked it.

The only problem that I see is that you're using LiPo's with the EVX. I don't know if anyone would second me on this, but I wouldn't try it without a voltage regulator or low battery alarm. Since the EVX doesn't have a voltage regulating/monitoring function, it might be possible to run the pack voltage low enough to cause internal damage to the cell/cells.

yes it is possible to over discarge a lipo with the evx. but lipo's are easy to tell when there done the voltage drops very fast so as long as you shutdown as soon as the voltage drops you are safe. just watch it very close

I allready run a voltage reg. and I plan on adding a volt cutoff as well. I was mainly concerned with the output to the motor(s) I think I'll get some time Sat. to play around with it so I will let you know if it works or not.

I had a few minutes last night to solder on some Deans plugs and try her out. Good news! No smoke . Just running in the garage driving over everything on the floor I'd say it works great. Lots of wheelspeed tons of torque but I think I'm gonna get a voltage reg for my 2.2 so the steering power is up to par with the rest of the electronics. The voltage reg I have is on my Clod with 1/4 scale Hitec's. I also threw an 11.1v Lipo in my clod, lots more power smaller, lighter, I think I'm sold on Lipos!
