I have one of the X4's and to me it's one of the best investments I have made so far. When you use as many batteries as I do it's already paid for itself in time alone.

I use an "Extreme X-605' on my bench at home. It's a counterfeit of a copy of something. It was cheap to buy, reliable and can be calibrated easily. Love it!

At the track I use the old reliable Onyx 230. They're damn near bulletproof.

I have 2 of these (in green).... TowerHobbies.com | VNR0657 0657 Venom AC/DC Pro Charger/Balancer

And one of these... TowerHobbies.com | VNR0660 0660 Venom AC/DC Pro Charger Plus Peak/Balancer

We won a ProCharger at a club comp and I bought a used Plus for a reasonable price. My total investment is OK (not as cheap as some, but decent).

Some of the nice things:
All are AC/DC input, no need to get a big DC power supply.
All come with balance ports.
They come with quite a few adaptor cables, use them or chop one up to use your normal connector.

Some of the other "less expensive" chargers mean you have to spend more money to get what I have. Just something to think about if you don't already have a DC supply to power it up at home.

i run a Imax B6-50 watt for 5k and smaller packs. the first charger i ever bought
a hobbyking eco 6-10-200 watt for bigger packs. my bro in law ordered a charger,PS and a few batteries from hobbyking, for some reason they threw this charger in the box too. he let me have it
and my old superbrain 969 for non lipo
and a pc power supple to run both lipo chargers. the superbrain has its own 5 amp supply

It's amazing how many chargers are based on or are copies of the B6. Which B6 is the question. I think the Bantam was first.

If you're hunting for power supplies for your chargers, look around for laptop style power supplies (bricks). They're cheap and plentiful. Look for a minimum of 12v at 5a. I'm using a power supply from a satellite TV receiver. It's good for 16v at 7a. Not bad for $10.
