Default ESC for Original Bruiser 750 Motor or ????

I have an original Bruiser/ Mounty that my wife got me a couple years ago. It is a mostly complete rolling chassis that i have a Re-Re hilux body going on it. And I am thinking about bringing it out of the mothballs to get it up and going.

I am looking to bring it into the current century with an updated ESC and radio gear and I am wondering if there is anything special I need to know when looking for an ESC to run the old 750 motor? I have also considered bumping up to a 1/8 scale brushless setup, like the Tekin Rx8 system.

I can sort out the steering and shifting linkage, but the motor/ ESC situation is beyond the extent of my RC knowledge.

I appreciate any input that you all could share.

Thanks,

Tucker

There's nothing special about the 750, it's a low power motor and any ESC will do.

I highly recommend you DON'T upgrade to a 1/8 motor setup, you will destroy the transmission and axles. If you do want a more modern and efficient motor you could find a 540 adapter (I think RC4WD has one) and put in a 30T or higher motor.

The Bruiser was never meant to be a power house, it's old tech and was designed for scale driving, not bashing.

Enjoy the revival
