Default My new radio

Just pick this JR XR3I radio today for $115.00 at LHS and I think I'm really going to like it. I plan on doing front dig and the 3rd channel grip button appears that it will work great. The mixing of throttle or steering with 3rd looks like it could be very handy for 4ws if I wanted. I haven't read the whole manual yet but I can see that it will do what I want it to do and a whole lot more. And the Rx isn't that much bigger either. Big difference after from a 10 yr. old 2 chan. AM to this. Questions or input welcome.

I think you're going to be a little disappointed. You can get proportional steering on the 3rd channel thumb button with that set, but it's dead slow. There's no 3-position setting for full-left, straight or full-right like the old XR3, so if you're in a hurry for your 4ws, you'll have to use the mixing.

I use the same radio and I like it.

I use mixing and leave the menu open to reverse aux so i can switch back and forth from crab walk to normal rear steer. I can then use a couple clicks to turn mixing off if I so choose, but i rarely do.
