| Best Brushless combo
OK I am building a 1/6th scale tlt and I wanna go brushless cuz I want some speed but want it to crawl to. I am gunna be runna an emaxx tranny hopefully going to a N rustler tranny for a t case. So I am looking for a brushless setup that will be good for crawling but has som speed to it to and will be able to move a rather heavy truck. THanks a lot in advance.

You're basically talking about 2 different beasts. Do you want speed or do you want a crawler? What sort of speed is "good speed"? |

Like faster than what crawlers usually go. But not fast like a rc18t with a mamba in it. Maybe like 20mph if that is possible to do with a capable crawler

Although I havent tried it yet, I bet the Novak sensored Crawler setup is what you are after. Look to spend about $250. Anything that is sensorless will either be fast (2-4 pole inrunner) and have no ability to start up from a bind, or be slow (8-12 pole outrunner) and have gobs and gobs of torque.

OK then. I am not spending $250 for an esc. What would i be looking for to get "gobs" of torque. And what motor would I be looking to use. PLus it needs to be cheaper somewhere around $60-$100 if thats possible

Yea I know hes not real. But I figured it out I'm gunna go with a Holmes Hobbies Revolver motor with a mamba 25 esc. That'll be cheap enough for me

Yep, it will bolt right up. It is meant for smaller rigs, and it is not a fast motor.

buy a rebuildable brushless motor and modifie the endbell like the big Lehner motors triangle connection for racing star for crawling triangle rpm/V / 1.732 = star rpm/V |

the Lehner ? its a 3080 you dont need 11.000watts for a crawler but i like the two motors in one version , it works not only for lehner motors |

For a 1/6 scale, you're going to need more juice than a Mamba 25 can give you. You can burst them for short periods, but running a huge truck like that at speed will likely kill the poor thing. Your rig's probably going to weigh more than 10 pounds, and at 20 mph, it's going to take some current to get it up to speed. My Ranger uses a Novak Super Duty and a single Titan, on 12 cells. The Titan works pretty hard, even with the "small" (for stock E-Maxx gearing) 2.2 Moabs. You could get by with less ESC, I just had the SD in the Maxx already. For brushless, I'd go with the Novak Crawler and an E-Maxx tranny. Use the two speeds. Geared properly, it should get close to 20 mph. |

Why will I be selling them? Novak has always made a good product, and the sensored design fills a gap in current available technology. My Revolver combos are very light and powerful, perfect for a slow and light comp crawler. A Mamba maxx/ 2820 combo would work perfect on a large, heavy, and slow crawler. The Novak is the only system that will go slow and fast, although it is a chunk of weight. The moment I say "this is the perfect system for all applications'" is the moment I am wrong. |
