| MGM Compro 8012 / Feigao 8s Problem HELP!
I just received a used MGM Compro 8012 & Feigao 8s and I am having problems getting it going. I programmed the controller via the manual, with the leds responding accordingly the entire time. The minute I connect the motor and try to run it, I get a quick rotation out of the motor and then it goes dead. Same thing happens in forward & reverse, whether it is connected to the truck or spinning freely. I know it is not binding at all as I can spin it freely at any given time. The motor leads seem to be connected to the controller correctly. The manual stated that the motor would beep throughout programming, so I connected the motor and reprogrammed. Throughout the entire thing the leds once again responded, but I did not see any life from the motor. Seeing that this is my first brushless system, I am completely lost. HELP! |

Sounds like a problem with the wiring from the esc to the motor. Did you instal the connectors yourself or was it prewired? Are you using motor plugs or is it hardwired? I bet that two outta three phases are firing, and that is all. The controller wont try to spin the motor if it cant get a good "feel" of where it is. All you will get is a stutter. Was there any noise at all from the motor when you programmed it? even a faint noise? |

I bought it used and it came wired. It is using motor plugs. I will re-read that part of the manual to see if I can see anything wrong. I imagine I can't just go switching the wires around though as it could damage it? I do not recall any activity out of the motor at all during the programming phase. No noise, no movement, nothing. I will try that again and confirm. |

Either the controller has a bad FET or the motor is wired incorrectly. You can switch out the three motor leads no problem, all it does is switch the rotation of the motor |

The manual does not give a clear indication as to how they should be wired, but the previous owner put color letters (R, G, Y) on the controller which correspond to the motor, and those are matching. I just did a reprogram and there was no noise. |

Did you plug it in backwards to the receiver? Sometimes that can be the problem. I had a that same setup last year and the MGM always seemed to have a problem, even though I bought mine new. |

If I change the receiver connection the led is delayed, and then blinks which from what I can tell means no TX found.
