Default Winch wiring question

Now that I have my rc4wd winch and wireless control I am having a dilemma about the power source, do you wire the power and negative into the connector that is coming from the esc to the battery " essentially Y'ing it. Or are you better off running say a small 1300 or 2200 Mah battery and discharge alarm as a stand alone battery for the winch ? Along with this is a second question of if you do wire it as a Y off the esc connector along with running 6 lights off the esc is there going to be to much draw through the esc that could harm it?

Esc is a tekin pro, battery is 5000/30C lipo or a 5900/60C lipo

Thanks for input

If you wire it on the wires going from the battery to ESC there will be no draw on the ESC from the winch. I just wired mine right to the battery connector.
