Default I hate the rebel 2!

[rant] So today I was out with TwistedXT and I lost throttle on both channels and it was just acting goofy so I shut the clod down and played with another rig. Testing here at home I am only having issues with the esc for the rear motor, It reverses just like it should but it will not spin the motor forward even though the LED on the ESC says that it is I am not impressed with these pieces of crap since this is not the first one to die under normal useage so Tekin is off the list of parts endorsed by Slugzracing INC! I am running 8 cells and twin 645mgs with no RX pack, the exact same setup I had with super roosters.

I just installed 2 of mine w/ 6 cells and 2 5955's, ran it hard for 2 days now, no issues yet. I wonder what the deal is? I'm starting to get parinoid!

I had a Rebel 2 die in my TXT running a 945mg front and a 5945mg rear. I've been running one in my Clod for a while now with dual 945mg's without issue though. Sounds like it's hit or miss with them.

I got one with a dead BEC right out of the box,
Tekin fixed it no charge and turned it around in one day.
So for my $4.05 priority spent they got it back to me in 5 days.

Since then it has been perfect running two tower pros hg995 and two 65 lathes on 6 or 7 cells.

I have 5 or 6 TR2's, never had a problem. I even dunked one today in it is back up and running. I think it is like everything else, depends on how you set them up and how you use them.

I bought one and it died after about two minutes of throttle time. I sent it in and they said I hooked it up wrong so they replaced it free of charge. For the record I didnt hook it up wrong it just sucked. The second I recieved I hooked it up just like the first and It has worked great ever since.

I think it depends on who was working in Tekin's quality control department that day.

They're unreliable POS, totaly unacceptable for compitition usage.

I find that hard to believe, only 2 of the 6 I own were bought at the same time. The rest have been bought from Tower new, the LHS new, and off a member of this board used. I think most of us got spoiled by the ease of Novaks, but remember, to get specs like the TR2 have from Novak you will spend twice as much.

I just don't see how they can be so bad If I have ESC's from at least 5 different batches or runs and never have had a problem. Your opinion is your opinion, but thats not my experiance with this product.

I agree with RD400

Nothing but good luck so far with both my TR2's..My comp rig is running 2 94359z's and a 8 cell pack. Other one is running dual 645's and a 8 cell pack. In my experiences with them, nothing but quick throttle response and consistently reliable operation.

My TR2 has been flawless so far. I have a question on the Novak super duty though. Are they a double pump reverse? I got a used one, and it doesnt seem to work some times in reverse, and it has to be stopped for the double pump to work. Is this normal? Thanks in advance.

No problems with my TR2 here. Has at least 15 hours of run time on it and no issues.

Burrlytlt and I have both fried the bec on three rebels running 1 digi servo
sent them in and got them fixed for free but when i talked to the tech dept they told me that the bec rateing was peak not rms ,the rms rateing was about 3 amps and i shouldnt ask it to run that powerful of a servo

That makes sense to me. The one in my Clod is older, then the one I cooked in my TXT with a digital 945mg, and it still works great.
