| Mamba Madness
Ok, so I picked up an e-flite park 400 and a mamba 25 at the lhs today. I was excited. Got home, put it all in the truck, and HOLY TORQUE BATMAN!! Only problem is it coggs on start-up unless I give it a pretty good amount of throttle to get it going, but response is less than desired. I have the casle link and have changed about everything everywhere to try and get rid of it with no success. The latest version it will let me update it to is 1.05. I've read that I should be able to update to 1.07. What's the deal. HELP!!!!

Try adding a cell or two. The Park seems to like more voltage. On 8 cells, the 8 pound Mog only cogs if I try to start it out in 3rd gear. If that's not an option, then gear it down. 8-9 cells or a lipo would be the preferred option, though. |

I'll try adding cells tonight. MICROGOAT - I read in the outrunner thread that you couldn't get yours to program to 1.07 either, did you ever get that resolved? |

What batteries are you running? The mamba does kick in kinda hard at first, but you shouldnt have to goose it too much.

batteries - just made an 8 cell 1400mah 2/3a pack. also running a 4 cell rx pack and bypassed the mamba's bec (running two mg645's) Gearing - 9t spur, 93t pinion, pede tranny The extra speed is great, still cogging slightly when trying to go slow in the rocks. What settings are you guys running your mambas at? |

You've just got to love a speedo that lets you share your settings over the internet I'm gonna download 'em and try it just for giggles. |

I just downloaded those settings to my mamba and hit the rocks out back. I already had it set REALLY close, I think all that changed was the voltage cut-off and the start-up voltage. It still coggs slightly with low throttle input. It may just take some getting used to. I've been running a self wound 55 turn for a year, I'm just used to the way it acts. anyway, in the little time I ran it, I did manage to shredd the rear ring and pinion. Imagine that. | |

The throttle response of the mamba 25 does take some getting used to, no doubt. There is a position on the throttle where the motor will try and sing two notes at once- it is minimum throttle. You might like the feel of the Quark controllers better. It is smoother and closer to a brushed motor.
