8.5 sounds a little fast/aggressive for a crawler. What rig?

It really depend on what you are going to use it for. I have a Havoc 3S with a 10.5 sensored brushless motor in a SCX10. I use it as a speedster and for running on the dunes. It does great for that. The Havoc 3S does not have a crawler mode (no instant reverse) and with the 10.5 motor the very low speed performance is poor (the 8.5 will be even worse). Whether the Havoc you are considering will work on 3S or not depends on the model. You should be able to pull up the specs on the Novak site. Final analysis? For general bashing it is fine. If you plan comp type crawling I would pass. Jerry
