IMHO,Brushless. The power I'm getting out of my set up is awesome. I'm running a Mamba Maxx ESC and a brushless MPJet 28/20-7 plane motor. It'll turn a lathe motor inside out and laugh at it in the process without breaking a sweat. I had some issues at first with striping gears but I believe I've got it under wraps now. The way I had my reduction and everything mounted, just allowed things to move a hair and gears started striping. Everythings mounted up ALOT better and no more gears are striping,.....so far

For brushed motors, the Novak Super Rooster, Super Duty and Tekin Rebel 2 are the ESCs of choice.

Possible high torque standard size servos include Airtronics 94359 (analog), Hitec 5995 and 5955 ( both digital). And then there are always the 1/4 scale servos.
