Default interference help - all metal mounting points...

I am soooooclose to finishing my TLT tuber...

I am using a nice Deans still antenna. It mounts to a solid surface and has a stiff mast, if you are unfamiliar. I think they are designd for boats, but I have been using them forever in ground vehicles.

The way it mounts, the antenna wire will be in direct bare contact with whatever mounting surface is used to mount it. In my case, I am running a steel tube chassis. The only plastic part is the lower skid plate. On the skid plate, the only place to mount the antenna is right next to the motor.

Is there anything I can do to reduce the interference from the motor (Integy lathe) or does anyone have any other ideas?

I saw this on here some where. This antenna satup has worked the best for the so far.
Did you put caps on the lathe motor?

I couldn't get any at my LHS. What specs do I need to pick some up hopefully at Radio Shack?
