Default mTroniks Viper ESC help

hey guys,
i got my mTroniks Viper RV Max the other day and i tried it out in my brothers stampede. works great except the reverse sucks! the delay is long and there is no power to it. does anyone now how to adjust the reverse delay? i read the disrtuctions and i did not understand it one bit. and everytime i turn on the ESC it has me reprogram it. any ideas?

i was running my stock E-Maxx Titan motor(14V) with it. and then i went to go into reverse it smoked really bad and the fan poped off and things went shooting out the vents. but it still works but would it fry because im running a 14v of a ESC that isnt designed for it?
