Default E-flite 32 outrunner

Would a Mamba max be too much for this motor, amp wise? The 32 is rated at 60 amps, and I think the max is 100 amps.

It would be just right, as a matter of fact.

That is one HUGE *** outrunner! 6mm shaft or 5mm? I forgot.

5mm I think. I can true down the shaft to fix normal pinions, though.

That's cool, i'm having a feeling my novak crawler motor won't have nearly enough torque for my 15+ lb rig.

The novak will if properly geared, it has a good amount of power. On a moab xl size tire I would make the final drive above 100:1 for the novak system, possibly 150:1. With the power 32 run on 10 cells I would say 85:1 would be plenty.

Well, you'll have plenty of torque, that's for damn sure

I think a Park 480 would be plenty for a 15-pounder. But nothing exceeds like excess I want to see this thing in action!

Ballistic Kevlar axle housings might be a good idea, though

how about something along the lines of the park 15-25 too the 32 is huge and a bit heavy. but it would be really cool to see.

With low enough gearing (get rid of spur and slipper) this motor could propel a heavy emaxx past 40 for sure. It will do well for crawling

Unfortunately, I would only run it on 6 cells, so idk if it would work well enough. Maybe I'd go with the 25.
I'm hoping for plenty of torque, which that big outrunner would help with, but I would also like some wheelspeed, if I reduced the novak for enough torque I'm thinking I wouldn't have any speed left. So maybe the 25 or 32 can do both.

Don't worry about torque or speed with the Novak. It's got torque like an outrunner and speed like a 27turn. The only downside is the locked-rotor behavior. I had no problems with it in my big-arse Kyosho turd with it, and that's a ten-pounder at least.

With a mechanical brake, the Novak would work fine. Or use the power 15 or 25. But the outrunners will want a few more cells (more weight) to get the wheelspeed you want.

Seems like making a mechanical brake is silly.

2828/08 would work on 6 cells. It really would need 8 to give proper power, but it will be all the power you need plus extra.

Even a bit faster. 6 turn would eat the amps and be very peppy on 6 cells. 8 turn would be like the AXI

I'd go as big as you can fit. We can always make a new motor plate to fit.

We need something slow if not slower then the Novak. No drag brake is really the downfall on the novak motor. Drag brake is really the biggest advantage of having a brushless crawler.

Reasons we think we need a outrunner
  • Drag brake is a must
  • Has to start up smooth like my revolver
  • Has to not eat batterys or heat up everything to the point the truck has to have cool off sessions.
  • Pushing a massive truck, steel tuber with swamp kongs and a huge wheelbase

that's another thing about needing a big outrunner, I'll need all the drag brake I can get because this truck is crazy heavy.
we'd have to make a new motor plate for something like the 32 or the 25, maybe move the motor to the top of the tranny case, because it'll hit the case with where the motor is now.

It would be nice if we could get it to fit in the lower location though. I guess we could do what is takes.
