Default winch.... help?

hey guys i just finished my servo winch on my truck...

The winch is a crappy hitec hs 911 servo for now, but anyway it is wired to a 3way toggle switch that has a 9 volt batery pack soldered to it also so the servo, and the battery are soldered to the 3way switch. The battery started to get hot so i put in a ground wire and sqrewed it to some metal on my truck. But the battery still gets hot even with a ground wire...........any ideas?

Without seeing how you have things wired...

Excessive heat at the 9V is a result of a high amp draw. Sounds like you've created a short somewhere in your wiring that is dead shorting + and - on the 9V.

The ground wire thing concerns me.

This isn't a 1:1 car that uses a common ground to the chassis.

wow that sounds like some HILLBILLY engineering with the ground....you increase your chances of a short and interference by "grounding" out the battery................ search for bare wire or stop picking your entire truck up with the servo
