i was out crawlin today

i was out crawling for about 2 hrs today, through brush, rocks a lil mud, and long trails. i went to go climb a rock when my rig lost forwards and reverse.... i went to go see what happened. i came across this!



my motor got so hot the end bell plastic melted! either way i rebuilt another motor i had but now my rig is running a 27t. a lil fast for my taste i would prefer either a 35t-45t

what gearing? and what rig?

ax10 15/87 old esc from who knows where, it was a nightmare 2 motor unknown turns. on nano-tech 6000mah 25c 2s

you can put your 35-55turn arm into any can. just remember the cans with two flat sides are locked at 24* same with the round unadjustable cans. you would need a can from a modified motor to set the timing at 0*

Nightmare was a 27t stocker from Trinity, one of my all time favs before the rebuildable faze hit.

Gearing looks ok, but was the tranny flipped requiring a reverse rotation motor? If so, your motor was running at a negative timing, so its not suprising it melted.

Ok so my can faces the front of my rig? Is that bad? I bought it used that's how it came.. My losi trail trekker is like that. Should I flip it so that the can it toward the rear? What about flipping the metal ring inside the can holding the end bell? Won't that change timing

Update: went back to my stock axial 55t, now to make up for my loss of speed I'm running 23/87... Lol I need helps

Tested it for 45min. its warm ( if that) to the touch with the 23/87. And its a hair over walking pace.
