| RC4WD winch help
Didn't know where to put this so it's going here. Just ordered a RC4WD 9300xt Bulldog wireless winch and was wondering what I nee to do to waterproof it. I have some plasti dip for the controller itself but don't really know what to do about the winch and motor. I know it's a brushed motor and they work pretty good under water, but, I want it to last as long as possible and not get all corroded. Also, is it a good winch if you aren't going to be using it at a comp? I'l probably just end up using it at GTG's. I know I can get a KMS if I want a really good, strong winch to comp with.

All I did was plasti-dip the controller. And yeah, it's a decent GTG winch! Use a snatch block if you're doing any hard pulls and it should be fine. |

I have some plati dip so I should be good there. Although, I don't know if it's dried up or not. Shouldn't have, it's in a metal container with a lid on. I was planing on getting a snatch block but will probably wait until after all this holiday stuff is done. |

mine has been through plenty of water never having a single issue. no waterproofing needs to be done to the winch itself but the controller you should always waterproof. For the other stuff its a little slow and will dead lift 10 lbs a little before stalling. it will dead lift 7lbs all day. you need good line. included line is junk. not a single thing is waterproof with my rc4wd wireless winch and i put it through stuff like this not waterproof scx10 drown lost footage unedited cell phone - YouTube Last edited by greggreg2011; 11-17-2013 at 04:48 PM. |

At least I can use the controller itself if the actual winch goes out. Thanks for all the help BTW. |
