I did it once with a traxxas servo. Can't quite remember, but I think you need to drill the end of one of the gears out.

The stops are there to protect the Pot, now that there gone you will probable break it. You can only get more throw if your tx has an adjustible epa. You might want to put them back in. Most servos can rotate 180 deg, but thew will only rotate 60 because thats what the pot and the tx are setup for.

it does not even rotate as far as my other servos that are the same type. I think it may be the modded tq3 swich but I am not sure. is it possible to convert the 2055 into a winch because that would work even better.

thank for the help so far and I have a peice to put back in to fix it if I can not make this a winch.

he is talking about the rotation not the length of his arms.

look on the back of your contropper where all the screws are that hold it together, On the lower part neerest the battery comparment there will be 2 screw holes that are close togther. One of those is a potentometer (end point adjustment)for the 3rd channel NOT A SCREW HOLE. It may be out of adjustment

if you turn the gear the connects to the pot upside down you will see that it is notched to slide over the pot. so when you rotate the servo it turns the pot until it hits the "stop" point. If you drill those notches out so it wont spin the pot as well then put it on it should work great. The only problem you will face is keeping the pot from spinning and setting it off. Maybe glue it in place? I dont know but i have an old 2055 that I want to try this with too. So if I can get it to work Ill let ya know.

Yup.. i just took one of the wifes steak knives and rounded out the center of the gear that goes over the pot, that way it doesnt turn the pot when in motion. then on the topside of the same gear there is a raised piece of plastic that catches to spots on the lid of the servo. I used some toenail clippers to cut that down flush with the gear so it doesnt catch and she works like a charm!
