| How "Waterproof" is the Traxxas XL-5?
Hey guys, This is my first post on RCC so take it easy on me :P Recently I decided to waterproof my SCX-10. I put an XL-5 in it because it says "Waterproof" on the cover, but I was wondering just how "Waterproof" is a Traxxas XL-5? Should I take any extra precautions? It won't be completely submerged under water, only a small amount of water that splashes up will actually hit it. Cheers! |

I have had my scx10 with the non-lipo blue xl-5 under water numerous times and most of those times it's under water for a couple of minutes until I can get to it to get it out, I'm not sure if this is what they meant by waterproof but I'm pleased. I think the lipo version should be the exact same but I can't say I'm 100% sure on that.

I took it out today and ran it through some fairly deep water, and the esc was fine! I was a little concerned because factory waterproofing can sometimes be dodgy.
