His source for all of that info is from the spec sheet he got from the NOVAK rep at the I-hobby show. I saw it with my own two eyes

I thought you were gonna say the Super Rooster is comming back... Damn...
But I see 6v/1.5a vs 6v/3a SR, and 4-7cells vs 6-10cells SR.
I do like to see that this new one includes voltage cut-off for LiPos. That's definately a nice feature. Now, what about reverse delay?

Last time I talked to Charlie they were going to put a 3A BEC circuit in it.

3A BEC would help it compete with the TR2.

Grrrr...

Yeah with Novak durability!!

While I've pretty much switched over to brushless I still think brushed motors will surely always have a place in R/C.

much more friendly to deal with, now we jsut have to get the morons to put in drag brake profiles.

the BEC needs to be higher than 3A. The TR2 has 5A at 6V.

3A is what the SR had and it performed well...and was dead-nuts reliable with two 1/4 scale servos (which tend to demand a good bit of current).

I thought the 5A maybe better for those wanting to run digital servos.

That's good news! It would be great news if the SR would follow!

If that happens, I see alot of cheap TR2s on eBay!

Good to see it coming back. I have to agree - a beefier BEC would be the icing on the cake, though.

They've got thier brushless crawler setup, I bet they'd sell a lot of units if they released a brushed ESC designed specifically for crawlers as well.

...or a dual purpose brushed/brushless crawler ESC based off the GTB.

Hey, I can wish, right?

I love Novak products, and I highlighted a few specs that caught my eye no one has mentioned yet 2x GOOD and 1x NOT SO GOOD (maybe). I am no electronics wizard, so correct me if I am wrong
Specs:
Drive profiles:4
FWD/BRK/REV (default)
FWD/BRK
FWD/BRK/REV w/Li-po cut off
FWD/BRK w/Li-po cut off
Don't these profiles indicate double pump reverse only??
Input voltage 4-7 cell Ni-cad/Ni-MH cells
1.2v/cell or 2 Li-poly cells
On-resistance 0.0014 ohms(forward)
Footprint 1.54" x 1.18" (39x30 mm)
smaller than original 1.63 x 2.02 x 1.22
Weight 2.66 oz (75.5 g) w/wires
1.57 oz (44.5 g) w/o wires
Rated current: 400 amps (forward)
Braking current: 200 amps
Power wires: 14 guage
BEC 6.0 volt/1.5 amp
Motor limit: 12t brushed (at 6 cells Ni-MH)
Discrete steps 256 forward, 256 reverse
Discrete steps 64: 32 Forward, 32 Reverse/ I assume this will mean a much smoother throttle response
Battery plug: Tamiya
Motor plug: Bullet connectors
Status LED's: 2
Voltage cut-off: 6.25 volts (Li-poly profiles)

That would be hillarious if the new Rooster had a double pump reverse! Talk about a way to loose close to 100% of the sales to the crawler community.
