Well, you won't need a 4PL, or a 4PK that part is for sure.

Traxxas 4 channel will work, spectrum makes a nice 4 channel, and "Losikid" here on the forums sells flysky GT radios that he has converted the software to open up to 8 channels for less than all the rest.

Minimum of 4 channel, check to see if the 4th channel is a 3 position switch or not. If not, you may need to eithe mod the TX or get a device from HeyOK to use a 2 position switch to control a winch.

Futaba, I would get a 4PL.
Spektrum, I never recommend. Some here use them and they're happy with them.
Airtronics MT-4. A couple of our club guys use them & they're happy with them.
Hacked GT3B or Hacked GT3C from LosiKid/OverkillRC (link in my sig). Up to 8 channels and RX's for ~$9 depending on how many channels you are using.

My son runs a 4PL on a MOA, I run a 3PM-x (3 channel) with a WantAmix on a MOA and a hacked GT3B on another MOA.
Both the 4PL & the GT3B are good radios.
