| mamba hot!
hey guy just finally jumped on the bandwagon and went to a brushless setup heres what i got park 400 920kv motor mamba 25 esc 87/15 gearing (pede) just wondering why the mamba is getting hot, i doesnt shut off but i turn it off to cool it down. maybe the programming? i did the progamming manually with the controller btw im just concerned but its crawls beautifully, just gotta get used to the trigger lol thanx in advanced |

It maybe over geared? I don't have experience with brushless motors on RC cars,mainly on powered glider and rc boats. I think that motor is a bit small,find a bigger motor with the same volt/rpm rating.It may not be enough torque,that's why it's heating up.

several people are running this motor with no heat issues, one but wiht a quark esc maybe less gearing 15/84 or 12/87 |

12/87 would be lower gearing

you need to gear the park 400 low. Especially since you have the 920Kv. Gear it at 87-93 spur with a 12T pinion.
