So the servo gets the full voltage you set the bec to. Some Rx's can't operate on high voltage, so this would limit the power going to the servo if you powered the servo through the Rx.

Yea like Johnny said, if you have a servo that can take 7.4v then you would want to wire it direct, otherwise if your just using a regular servo good to 6v you could go either way.

Some are just don't want to pull the red wire from their ESC's connector, and find it easier to just go straight to the servo. On a related note, anyone who's bought a Receiver Bypass Adapter has seen how crazy-simple it is to run it that way, and just does a plug-n-play. Some have found that even when done correctly, they can still draw enough through the receiver that the voltage can drop off and brown out the receiver. Some actually do believe they're losing power by going through the receiver. So who knows, could be any of a number of reasons why people do it one way or the other. I've got one still running through the receiver, and two that I've built receiver bypass adapters for, both ways are workin' fine for me. Do it whichever way you're comfortable with. |

Anyone know where to get an rx bypass? I know Holmes has them but they're out of stock there.

I don't think they are being produced anymore. Just make your own from a Y connector.
