|  Futaba 4PLS or Spektrum DX3R PRO?
Hello, I have been searching on and on about these transmitters and I'm still having a hard time picking between the two, They are both within my budget, But Just can't decide which one to get... I am going to be using it for both Crawing and Short Course Racing... Which one is better? Can i please have some Recommendations... |

In my opinion futaba is a much nicer piece of equiptment than the spektrum stuff. I started of with futaba in the 80s. When spektrum showed up I had a couple of them. I still use a dx6i for flight simply because I can't afford a nice futaba stick radio. The futaba stuff makes the spektrum feel kind of cheap or toy like. I love my 4pl and hope to get a 4pk at some point.

I was always a spektrum guy till I got my first 4pl; I love my futaba now, I currently own a 4pl and a 4pk Nothing bad to say about spektrum, but the 4 channel mixing I needed for MOA, Spektrum didn't have it, futaba did... But I've fell in love with the quality and service that my futabas provide. I would recommend futaba over spektrum .... This is coming from a guy who was a die hard spektrum fan...and to be honest I didn't want to switch to futaba cause I loved my spektrum..(have owned 5-6 spektrum from the basic 2 channel up to the dx3r pro) . But I bit the bullet and made the swap and now I'm glad I did. |

Futaba 4pl.... Enough said. I raced for years with spectrum then started having problems with spectrum in my big gas boats. Bought the 4pl and never looked back.

I love my new 4PLS, I had a 3PM-X that used Fasst receivers.............4PLS uses FHSS and they are much cheaper receivers to buy. I am buying the 6 channel ones for around $30 plus shipping.  http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXARPA&P=ML |

As everyone else said Futaba is the way to go....I used to be biased towards spektrum also. Now I do not own a 4pls yet, but I have checked them at the LHS and they feel much better then the spektrums I have. And the spektrums can be glitchy at times. 4PLS ftw!!! Specktrum is late to the game with the crawlers and trail trucks IMO. Then they offer something that doesn't even work... Futaba is a much better system and at least they have supported our side of the hobby from the start!!!!
