Default Hitec Programmer question

Just picked up the Hitech HPP-21 programmer. I would like to program the center and end points and to change the dead band width. The programmer needs a 6V 5 cell receiver battery to power, program and test servos.

Can I just plug in my BEC to the power for the 6V? The BEC is set for 6V. It sounds like a dumb question and obvious answer , but to me, a dumb question is one that isn't asked...

Yes, you can use your BEC to provide the 6v power to the programmer and servo. Better to ask than to smoke.

Ok. Thanks for the reply. If not I would build a 6V source, which would of been fun, but my time for my rc hobby is limited so I will choose the easy way out.

If you ever do make a 6 volt power supply to power it, make sure to use an USB isolator between the programmer and the computer or use a laptop on battery.

Having both the computer and power supply connected to AC line can cause ground loops that can damage the USB port on your computer and/or the programmer.
