Default Holmes torque master sport motor

I am running the holmes torquemaster sport motor with the brxl esc and I am going through brushes with every battery pack. Is this normal wear for these motors? I'm running 2s batteries and not beating on the truck too much but I am constantly having problems. I'm pretty fed up with the motor any suggestions? or should I be getting a better motor? Thanks

What running conditions are you driving in? Water? Sand? Dirt?

It's best to disassemble the motor after every run and oil the bearings.

I run it on the rocks, in water, dirt, mud. And I do take it apart and clean it after every run. I just thought the brushes should be lasting longer than about 35 to 40 min, and I'm not seeing much of a difference in how long they last due to the conditions im running it in

For water and mud you would be better off with a throw away motor or brushless.

How is the motor timed? Do you have your rig set up for reverse rotation (flipped trans or flipped gears in a wraith diff set, anything like that)?

is the holmes hold on and if so how high do you have it set, is it buzzing really loud when drag brake is on? you might need to turn the hold down.
