| Spektrum DX3c wheel broke
I was just running my xv-01 and the spring in the wheel of the transmitter just popped and must have broke. Now the wheel is limp and will roll to left or right with no input. Anyone know how to fix this or should I just give it to my LHS and have them return it? They are good and quick about returns. Thanks |

I found a how to video link with a Goggle search. Was in a thread by an RCC member from 2011. Mine broke during a crawl on my home rock pile a coupla days ago. Finished the pack and by then I decided I liked it. Have run several packs through since and am on the verge of taking the steer springs off of my other transmitters! Now the rig stays put while I move to another position for a different view. Been experimenting with methods to apply just a bit more friction to keep the wheel in place when I let go of it. Mine stayed put but moved easily. Right now there is a #64 rubber band tied around the gap where the wheel shaft meets the case and it feels about right. Was wrong about the origin of the video. Don't do links but the title of the YT video is: Spektrum DX3C steering wheel problem | Way to fix it Shows disassembly/reassembly. The factory springs have a stress point in the bend. You can bend a coil or two to make a new loop on each end and reattach it. Those who have done it say it is a permanent fix. Also adds a bit more tension. Good luck with it. Mine stays off. |
