Question motor - batt compatability Q's

hi all,
I recently purchased tekin t45 HD motors (hand wound - brushed) for my bully crawler. I noticed on the package that it said to use 3s batteries. but on the website it indicates that those motors can run 2s-4s batteries. I currently have 2s batteries (new too) my question is can I run these motors with the 2s batteries? it probably is a silly question but I still am learning....

thanks!!!

Yep. The s denotes the number of cells in series in the battery. In a LiPo each cell is 3.7V nominal. So a 1s is 3.7V, 2s is 7.4V, 3s is 11.1V and so on. Since most batteries provide a lot of current regardless of the s rating, and power = volts * amps, the more voltage the more power you get. Since your motor can handle 2s-4s voltage, it will be fine with 3s. 3s will be faster than 2s but slower than 4s.
