Default Motor shorting on bolt for rock slider mount.

I seem to be having an intermittent problem with my new Tekin FXR 35T COMBO that I just recently installed.

Sometimes I lose all throttle or throttle is not at proper RPM. The ESC is showing the proper throttle range but there is no output to the motor. The motor wires are soldered solidly in place.

It appears to be linked to the motor's brush wire coming into contact with the nut/bolt combo that holds one side of the rock slider mount. If I push this wire a little further away from the bolt, full throttle returns.

I was thinking that maybe you could paint the wire with some clear nail polish or something to shield it a bit but wasn't sure if that would damage anything.

I came from the stock 27t motor which is a sealed end bell and didn't have this problem.

What are you all doing to eliminate this wire from coming into contact with the chassis?

Thanks for your help.

Use the other set of holes on the mounting face of the motor.

Yup or rotate the motor by using the other set of mounting holes in the can.

Yeah...guess I just need to pull the motor and see what I can do about moving the wires away from the chassis.

Someone had mentioned plastic nuts instead of metal and I was just curious what everyone does to combat this problem. (no pun intended)

I flipped the bolt around and put the nut on the outside of the chassis.

I'm such a bonehead. So I flipped the motor completely and used the set of holes that kept the can furthest from the chassis. Now both brushes are visible and far from contacting the chassis. Thanks for all the suggestions.
