Default Setting Delta Peak Threshold

So I just bought two 2/3A 1200mAh NiMh Orion 6 cell battery packs. When I try to charge them I keep getting a false peak.

I've tried charging them at 0.5 amps, 1 amp, and 1.5 amp, with the delta peak threshold set at 25 mV and 30 mv. My manual recommends 30mV.

I am using my MRC Superbrain 959 chargers and have the problem on both chargers. I know everyone is going to say the 959 is junk and I should get a new charger. However, I don't have any problems with charging my AA packs or sub-C packs and I am not going to buy a new charger right now. Maybe after christmas.

So, should I just keep upping the delta peak threshold until I get a full charge, keeping an eye on them to be sure they don't get hot of course. Is that a reasonable way to do it or am I way off base, I usually don't mess with it.

Yeah, just keep upping the threshhold. Do you have a temp gun? Keep the cells under 150F and you are pretty safe.

Them chargers are junk, once you get a good charger you'll be amazed at the runtime you pickup. But, anyways the cooler you keep those chargers the better they seem to work. I'd grab a fan to place over the charger, it makes a world of a difference. Or you can do that PC cooling fan mod, there is a write up on it somewhere.

Thats right. Mine kept false peaking, but putting a fan on it did help. Still junk, but I think you realize that

Push display button to read the stop code during the trickle charge to see if it is a code other than normal 00, if it is then it stopped for another reason and can simply be restarted without unplugging anything.
