| Holmes Hobbies BR Mini vs Tekin FXR
As I understand, they both are about the same size, but that's about it. I have 2 FXRs, but I need something that will take up less space and have the same capabilities. For an RC with very little real estate to put electronics, the Tekin is an obvious choice, however, the battery/motor posts cause problems when having such little space to work with. The BR Mini looks like it has a much lower profile due to the lack of wire posts and the "on board" programming. But how would it do in a hefty (~6-8lbs) trail/rock runner? I plan to use a 3S lipo and a HH 27-35T TorqueMaster, so it's not like I'll be pushing a lot through it. I would like to know the Pros/Cons of the HH BR Mini compared to the Tekin FXR. Thanks! |

Are you running a moa? Because you say you have 2 fxr's and talking about a trail runner?

With the new RC that is being developed, I have approximately 4 square inches to put all of my electronics, including the battery. That's why I'm looking at smaller alternatives. Plus, who can't agree that Castle Link is 1000 times better to work and tinker with than Tekin Hotwire.

I have used both cc links and tekin hotwires, both work. If the size is similar...save the $$ and run the fxr's if you can. But I run a full size brxl waterproof esc on my scaler, so I can't relate to the mini size. The only thing I would say is that you can run bigger lipos with the brxl's and HH makes a great product.

I, too, have the Castle Link and Tekin Hotwire. The Castle link is just smoother and more user friendly. The FXRs are great for what they are, but not when you have such limited real estate- I now know how the Comp guys feel when they're setting up their stuff! The street price for an FXR is about $80-$90, the HH BR Mini is a little less. That's why I was wondering what I would be missing with the cheaper price tag for the BR Mini.

I just bought a dual BR Mini about a week ago and it is really compact and I am not sure the difference between a FXR and a mini but I do know it has all the same features as a CC Sidewinder. And yes I also like the Castle link software |
