Default AX-3 vs GT3B/GT3C

Hey guys, I am using the stock Axial AX-3 radio witch works fine but I can only go about 20 to 25 feet before it cuts out, I have 2 wraith's and its the same with both, I have calibrated them several times each. So I am thinking about getting 2 Flysky GT3b or GT3c or one of each, they seem to have good reviews and a good price. The bandwidth on the GT3c is 500hz is that the distance? and is that better then the Axial AX3? Thanks.

I believe the axial is a re-branded flysky, it uses the same firmware, that is according to "losikid" on here. I think bandwidth is the width of transmission, so I think that is correct meaning distance. Not sure though what the distance is of the flysky's, but I will be getting another one at some point, they are good radio's for the price.

Cheers,
Wade

these two transmitters are not equal in control/function...
tho' they are compatible.

If you get a newer FS GT3B/GT3C...
be sure it comes with their newly designed RX (GT3F)

I had the prior offerings of their GT3E and it failed at 6v (BEC)

The newly designed FS GT3F RX is reported to handle 8v

My bet is either your Axial AR3 RX is fubar...
or maybe the TX is down on voltage ?

You should try a replacement RX
to be sure that is not what's at fault.
A FS GT3F will bind with the A3 TX.

Tho' I'm generally within 25ft of my rc when operating...
It should be able to be operated at much further distances.
I've never tested my distance...
but know that it will operate at a much father distance.
I've had mine at least 100 yards distant without issue.

I currently have a FS GT3C
and it's bound to my Axial AR3 RX (BEC set at 7.4v)
I'm not installing the GT3F until the Axial AR3 RX fails.
The AR3 RX has been working for 6 months now...
so I'm in no hurry to install the GT3F RX.

I was planning on using the Flysky RX and TX, not sure what RX comes with the GT3c?

OK I will get the GT3F RX first and see if that helps, thanks TacoCrawler for your help because the GT3C that I was gonna get comes with the FS-GR3C receiver.

weird...
I was under the assumption that the GR3C RX
is what came with the earlier FS GT3B TX.

but then... I don't really know fer sure.

Just don't get a FS GT3E RX...
I think they are weak sauce.

My FS GT3C came originally with the GR3E RX.
But newer GT3C's should have the newer GR3F RX's with it.

But old stock... could have a mix match of any RX !?

To op..... The axial radio is re branded flysky radio and uses same rx as gt3b gt3c and gtx3

As to the issues with rx..... I've had the gt3b since it came out...... Handful of gr3c, gr3e and gr3f rx s....... Had no issues with any of them...... But then again I'm not trying to shove any goofy amounts of power through any rx.... I run jumpers to bump my servos directly from bec, really no need to give rx more than 6 volt, I let them run off the esc.

Thanks bro, I dont think I need more volts, I think I need more bandwidth? the GR3F RX is only $10 so it wont hurt to calibrate it to the stock AX3 TX to see if it helps. Im only looking for better distance, nothing crazy, but better then 20-25 feet.

get a gt3c. i wouldn't worry about the RX personally, since the gt3c can be hacked for more channels, and you'd be getting a different RX to support said upgrade.

that is the route I'm going...i used to run an AX2 and AX3 and was frustrated with not being able to adjust simple things like end points for my servo. Dealing with AA batteries was also getting old, and I really liked the idea of having one TX being capable of running my other RCs that use my old axial RXs. for the price, a stock gt3c was a significant upgrade for me as a novice to RCs. I did buy the hack kit, but it's been sitting on my shelf for months since my 2 rigs that need more channels are not finished yet.

Thanks, I do want a GT3C, my son also has a Wraith, so I would like to get 2, TacoCrawler said not to use the GR3E RX that most of the GT3C's come with that I have found. I guess I could use the stock Axial RX since I only use 2 channel anyway.

I never had an issue with the GR3E, except some DOA ones, its totally worth the 8 bucks, and there is no comparison between the Ax-3 and the GT3B, flysky smokes it in every possible way.

I run a 3s lipo instead of the AAs just cut the board out and soldered on a deans and plugged it in , no internal mods.
