Default Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster

Hi. I have a Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster BR-XL WaterProof, and it says on their website it has an "onboard switch mode BEC". Now, i don't really know what that is, apart from the BEC part lol, but the BEC is what i want so i will assume thats basically what it is. I have an rc4wd twister waterproof servo and i feel like it should get more torque, or at least i want more anyway. I was wondering if i had to do something to get the "onboard BEC" to actually function. and if it is functioning and i just want too much power lol, what other ways could i get more torque?

Cheers, Hammer

Is simplistic terms, more voltage = more torque. That servo is rated for 277oz/in of torque at 7.4 volts.
The hh brxl only goes up to 7.2 if memory serves.
So try to program the esc at as high a voltage as it will allow UP TO 7.4v. See if you like it. Most importantly be aware of any glitching. An external bec is nearly must nowadays. The servo can draw too much from the ESC causing glitching/ brownouts. Yada yada. There's a million "Do I need a bec" threads.. They are very informative. If u still need more steering torque a new servo is in order.
