| Picking a radio??
I need some help. I'm going to buy my son (he's 8 ) a TLT kit so he can start getting into R/C's. But it's been a long time since I've been into R/C's myself and I'm looking to keep costs way down so I need some suggestions on some cheap but good radios that are out there. Nick |

If it is just for him dont spend a lot just now, at 8 years old he could very well lose interest and leave things to collect dust. I will recomend a Traxxas TQ3 radio and reciever since you can find replacement parts easily and they are reasonably priced. There is a reason that most people on this site have used/still use one. |

Edit: Just did a quick search on Towerhobbies.com and it doesn't come with a reciver or servos. Now servos are easy but how do I find a reciver for it?? Nick Last edited by Rocfrog; 12-03-2006 at 09:47 PM. | |

| http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Traxxas-REVO...QQcmdZViewItem TQ3s are all over eBay, and sell for under $30 most of the time. They make a great starter tx/rx, and give you the ability to run 4WS (with a small modification) in the future if you decide to upgrade. |

You have to keep calm. Prices jump all over the place. One just went for $37 before shipping, and 20 minutes later I got one for $18.50. And that's high for me. Just remember there's always one cheaper.
