How do you find out the outpout voltage of a speed controller say the lrp runner or the novak xrs sport? what does bec v stand for in the speed controller specs?

BEC stands for Battery Eliminating Circuitry. It produces a voltage for the receiver and servos, as they generally run on a lower voltage than the main pack's.

Do you mean the rated voltage for the ESC? The output voltage will be dependant on the batteries.

If it's a six cell pack, it'll give a max output of 7.2v. Each cell on a nimh or nicd pack produces 1.2v, so multiply the number of cells by 1.2v to find your output voltage.

Electronic speed controllers dont regulate voltage, they regulate duty cycle. If your pack is 8 volts charged, it will give 8 volts to the motor whether you have the throttle pegged or cracked open.

What are you trying to figure out?

most of the sporty speed controls bec's are regulated at 5v-1amp, higher end esc's are rated at 6v-3 amp. Most servo torque specs are at 6v, so you wont get that 238# of torque out of a servo without 6v from the esc.
