| which is better lathe motor????
does integy or axiom make a better motor? I am building a tlt and i am not quite sure what motor to go with or how many turns to go with i was thinking 55t. But i also have thoughts of putting in a gear reduction unit and i am not sure what this will do as far as what motor i should run. if you have any ideas as far as what works best for you and what turn is best for gear reduction units and straight transmission hooks ups. thanks |

i use axiom motors in my clod rig. i have used integy motors before, and i feel that the axioms are much smoother. most people i know do not use a gear reduction unit in a tlt rig. they use a 55 turn motor with a stampede transmission. on my old tlt comp rig, i ran a 13 tooth pinion with an 87 tooth spur. some guys like more wheel speed, some like it slower. |

I will be the first to chime in with the "go brushless" so, go brushless. you will not be dissapointed. other than that, my vote is for axiom. matt cincy |

I am using a 55t integy on my tlt right now wit a 20tooth pinion and I really like it. the 55t has enough torque to turn really slow but still has some good wheelspeed. I can honestly see no need for a gear reduction unit unless you want your crawler to be passed by snails.

I run a A 65t lathe integy motor. i am running a gd600,32pitch,18t pinion I have no problem at all with stall. I am running a 15t pinion at the moment which is too slow but REALLY powerfull. i will be running a 18t soon. In my apinion would be go for the integy. really quiet. and powerfull |

i must say go with axioms, much smoother and the start up, was way better then any of the integy i bought, 55 or 65, i have to agree on the brushless reccomendation also, i have a tlt on outrunner and mamba 25 from JRH, monstrous power , i will probably move on to the max controllers in a month or so. axiom cleans the coms maybe cuts I cant remember, changes the brushes to a higher silver content, changes the springs to stronger ones(Purple),shims the motor under a magnetic field and breaks it in on the dyno. You will recieve a dyno print out with your motor. I have switch all mine to Axiom and they are a lot smoother motor, for 5 bucks more than a integy you cant go wrong, All the listed thing above I would always have done anyways so it is a great deal. I took my first 3 integys apart and the com was out of round and tapered, brushes were notched from the arcing and the com showed the signs of arcing. None of these motors had been abused nor did they have a lot of run time on them. Trying brushless right now but i got issues Devlin |

Well, I'm running two Axiom 55 turns in my clod, and haven't got any issues whatsoever with them. Everyone who keeps raving on about brushless, don't you think we would already have them if we could afford 'em? Just think before you type. |
