Default Castle Bec

I just hooked up a castle bec to rig. When I plug my battery in my spekturm sr3100 receiver light comes on with out turning on the esc. Is this normal?

Yes, that is completely normal. The BEC gets juice as soon as the battery is plugged in which in turn powers the receiver.

If your CCBEC also powers your Rx, then yes, it will light up as soon as you connect your battery.

I'd recommend one of these -- Holmes Hobbies Rx Bypass Adapter

Since you're in Manchester I don't know of your access to HH stuff. You couldn't make one for less unless have pins, connectors, wire, heat shrink and the proper crimpers already on-hand.

Well, wouldn't a standard server y-cable with the red cable going to the receiver disconnected be the same. I think it is easier to get such a wire over here (Europe) than the special bypass adpater ones.

Just use a couple servo extensions and make your own if you can't get the HH ones.
