Default esc question

Is there a big performance difference between holmes hobbies waterproof bec and say just a traxxas xl5?

What's a xl5? Does traxxas have a crawler/scale rig out now? Weird..

If you read 10 threads and 9 of them are using a HH Brxl and zero are using a xl5, cause the 1 that isn't using a Brxl, is running brushless..
It's a pretty clear answer bro...

Will a xl5 work, if it's what you have, I guess so.. Does it have drag brake? Built in bec? Lipo cutoff? Etc, etc, etc...

Traxxas XL5 is used in the Slash short course trucks. They have a low voltage cut off and are "waterproof" rated. They do not have a drag break and no bec. The XL-5 isn't ideal for a crawler esc. You would be better off going with the Holmes.

Unless he has the yellow XL-5, if that's the case not waterproof. The blue one is and has a 6V@1A BEC built in.

Homes new ESC is also pretty stout too. I just ordered a few for the store and some for my personal rigs
